Some lists are simply huge. DropDownList draws only the options in view, so even a hundred thousand entries open at once, and typing narrows the list.
Why it helps
- Smooth with very long lists
- Type to narrow
- Familiar combo box behavior
Where it fits
- Product and customer catalogs
- Postal code lists
- Reference data

Example
<DropDownList TItem="string" Label="City (100,000 entries)" Items="_cities" @bind-Value="_city" Placeholder="Type to search" />
<p>Chosen: @(_city ?? "none")</p>
@code {
private readonly List<string> _cities = Enumerable.Range(1, 100000).Select(n => $"City {n:D6}").ToList();
private string? _city;
} A short fragment. Add @using RayCraft.Blazor.Components to your page and use an interactive render mode.
